When 2019 first began, one of the last games that I thought would get a revival on current generation pieces of hardware would be Spongebob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom. But, thanks to TNQ Nordic making everything new again, we are going to get to play through the surprisingly great adventure once again. Now, we have finally received our first glimpse of gameplay from Gamescom.
IGN has uploaded about 12 minutes of gameplay for us to feast our eyes on. The demo doesn’t start at the beginning of the game and looks to be somewhat a little farther in. You can take a look in the video below:
Rehydrated is going to feature some content that was cut from the game. On top of that, there will be a new multiplayer horde mode coming to the remake that was not in the original.
There is a reason that many of us consider this game a cult-classic. I am not one to say that Battle for Bikini Bottom was a masterpiece or anything, but it was surprisingly great for a TV show tie in. And that is all it had to be for many of us fans. Purple Lamp Studios, the developers behind the remake, has done an excellent job of polishing up the formula that worked so well when the game originally released back in 2003. I can’t wait to play a good SpongeBob game once again.
SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom is set to release for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
