Cyberpunk 2077 Atari Mock-Up Oozes Retro Nostalgia

Cyberpunk 2077 by CD Projekt Red is a title that creates a lot of hype amongst gamers and it will continue to do so right up until its release. That hype will definitely be magnified as we get to see more about this futuristic title at E3 this year and who knows – maybe even a launch date? Whatever the CD Projekt devs decide to show us, it has become more and more obvious how far gaming has come, but sometimes we need a little remember of that in the form of some good old gaming nostalgia.

If you have never owned an Atari, you don’t know what your missing from classics that include Pitfall!, Outlaw, Space Invaders, Frogger, and so many others so it was a wonderful surprise to see Cyberpunk 2077 artistically recreated onto the box of an old Atari cartridge case – it’s quintessentially 80’s to the core. This particular design comes from concept designer Maciej Kuciara who works in the film industry in L.A.

It’s very possible you have seen many aspects of Maciej’s work as the past movie projects he participated in include Ghost in the Shell, Captain America: Civil War, Jupiter Ascending, Guardians of the Galaxy and X-Men: Days of Future Past. Movies aren’t his only venture – Maciej also was the Concept Artist on some well-known video games like The Last of Us, Crysis and, Deus Ex Mankind Divided.

Maciej offers up his creative secrets on how he creates such realistic concept designs in a short video, but you then have to pay a fee to know the rest which isn’t ideal, but he is a busy man and time is money after all. You can check out the YouTube video if you’re interested or just pay a visit to Maciej’s website  – some of his art is mindblowing!

Lately, many gamers have been up in arms over timed game exclusives on the Epic Games Store, but according to CD Projekt Red’s global community lead Marcin Momot, they don’t need to worry about this with Cyberpunk 2077. Marcin has stated that “Our goal is to make Cyberpunk 2077 available to as many gamers as possible on their platform of choice.”

Cyberpunk 2077 is still in development and doesn’t have a release window but it’s scheduled to arrive on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
