Nightwave: Series 1 Update Launches Today for Warframe on All Platforms

The Nightwave: Series 1 — The Wolf of Saturn Six update is now available on all versions of Warframe, from PC to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and even the Nintendo Switch.

In each of the Nightwave series, beginning now with Series 1, players will earn power items, cosmetics, and Wolf Cred currency by completing Acts and raising your Reward Tier with Nora with 30 total tiers to make your way through. Unique rewards (and their tier level) are:

  • Saturn Six Armor Bundle (Tier 30): The signature battle armor of the only lunatic fearsome enough to have escaped the Saturn Six Max-Pen.
  • Umbra Forma (Tier 29): Applies the Umbra polarity to any Warframe or Weapon.
  • Wolf Howl Emote (Tier 26): Summon the pack with this exclusive emote.
  • Two Weapon Slots (Tier 4): Adds two weapon Inventory slots.

You can also get former Alert System Rewards,  including Nitain Extract, Weapon and Helmet Blueprints, Catalysts, Reactors and rare Aura Mods, by visiting the Nightwave Cred Offerrings and spending Wolf Cred. Players will be able to earn up to 300 Wolf Cred by completing daily and weekly Acts and even more once you have past Tier 30. These Wolf Creds will only be usable temporarily so be sure to spend them before they become void.

You can get a look at Reward Tiers as well as Nightwave Cred Offerrings in the image gallery below. You can also listen to Nora’s broadcast in the launch trailer. For the Nintendo Switch version of Warframe this update also includes Fortuna: The Profit-Taker and the first round of TennoGen items. The Nintendo Switch version reached the acclaim of 1 million downloads within a month of launching on the platform. Early last year it was announced that Warframe had reached over 38 million registered users across all platforms at the time as it approached its five year anniversary on March 21.

Nightwave is an ongoing pirate radio broadcast hosted by Nora Night, the eyes and ears of the Origin System. Each Nightwave Series will unfold over several weeks and tells a brand new story. Completing daily and weekly challenges — called Acts — will unlock limited-time, exclusive rewards!

During today’s Nintendo Direct, the Nintendo Switch version of Warframe was confirmed to be launching on November 20th, 2018, which will bring the free-to-play game to a new audience of players, and also will be the game’s very first portable iteration.

Warframe‘s Switch version marks the most recent iteration of the game since its debut back in 2013 from developer and publisher Digital Extremes, and while the game garnered a mixed reception at its launch, in the years since it has amassed a massive and loyal player base thanks to its continued updates and expansions.

The Switch version of the game is being developed by Panic Button, which previously brought games such as DOOM and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus over to the system in the past year.

New Warframe Update Available For Consoles, Titled Beasts of the Sanctuary

Being a free update far after its initial release, Digital Extremes continues to add content for those who are still playing Warframe. It’s called Beasts of the Sanctuary, and it even brings a shiny new Warframe to battle with onto the PS4 and Xbox One. PC Players already received this update back in April.

After being announced by Digital Extremes a few weeks ago, the Beasts of the Sanctuary is ready to download and play as of now. The content includes one some new weapons to stick in each other’s faces, as well as the new Warframe, Khora, which comes with a Whipclaw ability. Her other skills are called Ensnare, Venari, and Strangledome, which sounds about as entertaining as it might be painful.

The new weaponry added are the Dartgun, Tenno Revolver Rifle, Quill Spear, Quill Syandana, Quill Alt Helmet, and the Zaw Parts. The new Sanctuary Onslaught mode is also available to play, giving players a chance and running away through portals while taking on hoards of enemies. Oh, and don’t forget about the new Plague Star Event, which ends on May 21.

Warframe began as an open beta in 2013 and has grown quite considerably in population as a free-to-play third-person shooter. Want to check out Warframe and try the new Beasts of the Sanctuary update for yourself? Then all you need is a PC, PS4, or Xbox One. Are you curious about Khora’s abilities and details in Warframe?
